Eeso0o's first major booboo!

Two nights ago, on the 22nd, we were sitting down and talking with Nayyar khaloo who's over from Isloo. Nayyar khalloo was sitting on the carpet, his legs outstretched drinking water. you wanted to mimick him. you made me pull out the same type of glass for you. you went and sat next to khalloo, leaned back against the sofa, outstretched your legs and drank the water. Abbi was sitting on the silver chairs and he put the glass next to him, once you were done. Soon thereafter, you got up to play. However, you tripped and lost your balance and fell on to the glass. The glass went thru the middle of your left shin, abbi picked you up right away but it was too late. you were spraying and dripping blood everywhere. On mama's carpet, the silver chair, the floor, the sink, the bathtub. Alhamdolillah you didnt cry when it happened, but I panicked and then you started to scream. When abbi ran water over your legs, your cries was sooo painful. Khaloo and abbi then put ice on you to stop the blood flow. Alhamdolillah it eased out. BUT. But it gave u a freezer burn. It was horrible, trying to put you to sleep. But you've discovered a new fetish this week. Adam's world!!! you love their last dvd; One Big family. You love listening to 3 good boys and hum to the tune alll day - very adorably so, if i must say so myself. You were so tired, you fell asleep watching the songs. I'm not sure how happy i am about that. I dont want you turning into a tv addict, but on the other hand I'm very happy you're finally enjoying these dvds.

abbi's who's usually faint with all this, was rather firm alhamdolillah. i on the other hand felt really queasy. abbi washed u out and then put the bandaid on. Your cut has grown alot smaller - alhamdolillah but the burn looks scary. its purple blue and black. your skin is super sensitive and u hated bathing this morning and THAT rarely happens. You've been walking on ur tippy toes or on the side of your heels coz i guess it hurts to apply pressure to the foot.

You've been cranky all day and acting all weird. you made us go upstairs to chacha and chachi's place. we sat and talked for a bit but when abbi and i were leaving, you didnt wanna go. you pushed chacha and chachi into the apartment and waved us goodbye. It was funny but it also sortta hurt! *gives u THE look* But you're weird today anyway! hehe *hugz* I will inshaAllah take piccys tmrw.. post them up for future memories.

Eesa's First baseball Game...

Eesie, Mama's been busy. She hasnt been able to pen down the million and one thoughts flying all over head due to sheer procrastination and the petty excuse of homework and exams.

Nana and Naani were over from india last month and we took them out to a baseball game with Dada Daadi and phoppo. We had seats on the ground... just aisles away from the players. Everytime the crowd roared, you'd get scared and start wailing. But when the crowd clapped, you loved it. you'd clap too. You'd loved being with daadi who brought yummy pasta for you. We indulged in some hefty popcorn and drinks. Ofcourse the jays won and the crowd went home happy. Abbi danced u on his shoulder. Mama screamed her lungs out. Here are some piccys for you to enjoy!

We're at Daadi's..

Grandparents add a whole new dimension to our upbringing. We're spending the weekend at daadi's and Abbi's going to Montreal tonight. You've been having a ball here with Daadi who's been spoiling you to no end.

She's taught you how to slide down stair banisters. She plays with you way past your bedtime at midnight. You've learnt how to do the actions of "baby baby yes mama", you're too lazy to actually say the words but you do go 'Ha ha ha!" at then end. Bai bought you a lil tikes basketball net, but chachas and abbi enjoy it more than you do. You'd rather run around the pool. BUT! right now, you're running around carrying the b-balls!

You're growing up so fast mashaAllah. It's a joy watching you. You're soooo hyper too... you just love running around the place.

I love u gunda booboo!

Recognizing emotions..

You've learnt how to get what you want. You know how to manipulate us. You can charm your way out of anything and everything. At the same time, you can cheer us up in the lowest of moments.

Three days ago, chacha was upset over some stuff. You called him off the sofa to come and sit with you on the carpet. You'd lavish him with super flirty, ear to ear cheshire cat grins.

Even when I get mad at you, you smile back and melt me up. Yest I was talking to Aasiya but you wanted my attention. You'd put your fingers in my mouth and laugh at the funny way the words would sound. Your laugh was music. Aasi and I could go on forever hearing the wya you laughed. Alhamdolillah. When things get lowest of low, you're there to cheer us up! Albeit momentarily, you know how to make us forget our worries.

Love you babes.

Will the real momma please stand up!

Amongst my friends there has been a sudden population boom. While some are already parading about cooing their ten little fingered bundle, the others are still strutting about with their cute lil bulging tummy. And then there's this one who's only 6 weeks into it and moaning abt all the nausea. Our conversations have moved on from mundane daily life stuff to shopping at babies r us, baby shower registries, onesies, maternity vitamins and ofcourse to shows like Bringing Home The Baby or The Baby Story etc etc

Talking's the fun part!

Once the baby arrives, it's a WHOLE new story!

I was just telling Atikah and Maryam this the other day. When Eesa was three months old, ppl would go, 'now's the easy part, wait till he starts walking!' and i'd be thinking.. "what an obnoxious woman!!!! what could feel worse than the exhaustion and dehydration I feel post-nursing".

Lo and behold! when I saw Xeneb lying down peacefully and Eesa running around - all hyper-, I missed that stage and without thinking, said to Atikah 'enjoy now, once she starts walking, you'll miss it!'.

They say it's the terrible two's. Eesa is only 19 months and if this isn't terrible.. i don't know what is! I believe terrible two's struck him early!

We took eesa to the mall yest. It was HORRIFIC. I remember seeing kids at the mall, crying and screaming, and i would wonder"what bizzarre kids!" Guess what! MY KID'S ONE OF THEM NOW!!!

*gasps*

It's crazy! The only way we could move him from one spot to the next was to hand him a penny to throw into each fountain at the mall. He was upset that I hid the car keys. And boy! do 19 month olds have a memory! He just wouldn't forget! At one point he started crawling across the mall, crying! And, as if that wasnt bad enough, he lay down on the floor at walmart and kept crying.

Imagine this, standing in the line by the cashier, a little boy screaming and yanking hangers from his momma's hands onto the floor! Yes, ladies and gentleman, that is our dearie Eesa!

I was sooo agitated. My patience ran out. But I bet you, this lil one was punishing me! And to top it all off, people were turning around and looking at us everywhere we went! I mean, what does it take? A finger poked through their eye to tell them to mind their own business? As it is, its embarassing to have a crying baby in your arms, ppl looking at u makes it a million times worse!

I had to finally get Maryam to pay for the stuff while i took him to the car where he silently munched on his pretzels!

:S!!

I believe kids are God's way of reminding us of the struggles our parents went through in raising us. I love this kid to bits but I wish to God there was some manual I could refer to! I just dont know where I'm going wrong. Eesa's the eldest in the lot, and so there's not many parents I can turn to for advice! All I wanna do is scream...

HELP!
